Our client is a direct-to-consumer e-commerce brand scaling on paid social, with a subscription base behind it. Forecasting, cash, unit economics, inventory and the close are scattered across the business, so ad spend decisions are being made on instinct instead of numbers.
What you'll get
- $90k–110k per year, part time.
- Fully remote, working US Eastern business hours.
- Full ownership: you are the finance function, not a reporting layer under one.
- Direct line to the founder, with marketing and a bookkeeper alongside you.
- The chance to build repeatable systems that outlast you, rather than one-off spreadsheets.
What you'll do
- Run a live rolling 13-week cash forecast so cash position and runway are known at any point.
- Produce weekly unit economics by channel and cohort: CAC, LTV, contribution margin, payback period.
- Set break-even ROAS targets and spend guardrails with marketing.
- Own month-end close with the bookkeeper: P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, on time every month.
- Reconcile inventory and COGS forecasts against 3PL reports so inventory buys tie to the forecast.
- Model subscription retention, churn, promo and BFCM margin, and build financing models for working capital.
Who you are
- 5+ years in finance, FP&A or accounting, at senior level.
- You have worked directly with DTC e-commerce brands, ideally ones spending heavily on paid social.
- Fluent in CAC, LTV, contribution margin, MER and payback period.
- Strong in QuickBooks and spreadsheets, comfortable pulling data from Shopify, Meta and 3PL reports.
- You have owned a month-end close and produced full statements yourself.
- US-based and available during US Eastern business hours.

Questions people ask
- Why is the company not named?
- This is a confidential search. You will learn the company name once you reach the interview stage.
- How part time is it?
- It is a fractional role, fully remote, with availability expected during US Eastern business hours. The founder has limited time for this hire, so you will run on your own judgment from day one.
- Is this a bookkeeping role?
- No. A bookkeeper is already in place and you own the close with them. You are accountable for forecasting, unit economics, inventory and the decisions that follow.
- What does success look like early on?
- Clean books and a live 13-week cash forecast in 30 days. Weekly unit economics running and marketing spending against guardrails by 60 days. On-time close, inventory tied to forecast, and the founder making ad spend calls from your numbers by 90 days.
If you want the founder scaling on evidence instead of instinct, this is your seat.
