A profitable DTC pet brand is hiring a Head of Product Development, based in Shenzhen, Dongguan or Hong Kong, to deliver roughly one main product launch per quarter plus consumables, accessories and upgrades. US$135–175K/yr base plus up to 20% in milestone bonuses, reporting straight to the CEO.

Our client is a profitable DTC pet brand selling premium products across Shopify, Amazon and Chewy: $50M+ a year, $2M+ a month on Meta, a 100% remote team. Products so far were developed with factories and outside help, led by the founder and the operations team; the plan is $100M+, and that needs a real product function built from nothing.

What you'll do
- Own a quarterly product roadmap agreed with the CEO, with a signed-off brief per product
- Drive each product through EVT/DVT/PVT, from industrial design to mass production
- Find, vet and run Pearl River Delta factories; negotiate price, MOQ, tooling and quality
- Secure patents, NNNs, IP assignments and mould ownership before any factory sees a design
- Own QC, certifications and launch handover so new products match or beat the core range
- Build the function itself with contract engineers, design studios, selected hires and SOPs
Who you are
- 6–8+ years building physical consumer products end to end, ideally including electronics
- 2–3+ products you took from idea to mass production and launch
- You have built and led a team across design, engineering, patents and factories
- You have found, vetted and run Chinese factories in the Pearl River Delta
- You are based in Shenzhen, Dongguan or Hong Kong and in factories and studios every week
- You make independent calls on spend, tooling, suppliers and legal protection
