Talo is hiring on behalf of a client
Freelance · Remote, approximately 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Amsterdam time
A confidential search run by Talo for one of its clients. The full brief is shared with shortlisted candidates.
The budget is $3,000–$7,000 per month for roughly 30–40 hours per week, plus performance bonuses. Give a single number, not a range.
If you are working out a notice period or finishing client commitments, give the realistic first day you could begin.
This is a freelance contract, so we need to know where you are based and invoicing from. For example: "Working from Portugal, Brazilian national, invoice as a registered sole trader."
Be honest — the team works synchronously with media buyers, editors and designers.
The role is approximately 30–40 hours per week.
Count only time spent developing concepts, angles, hooks, scripts and briefs for paid social — not general marketing, branding or design work.
Choose the option closest to how you spent most of your time.
One per line, for example: "Brand X (DTC lamps, $400K/month spend) — Creative Strategist (freelance), Mar 2023–Present". Include monthly ad spend where you know it.
Select all where you personally developed concepts. Home decor, home goods, furniture and lifestyle are a strong advantage.
Select all markets where your concepts actually ran.
Answer yes only if you can point to specific numbers for concepts you originated, not concepts you only executed.
Total monthly spend on the account at the time your concepts were running. Choose the honest option rather than the flattering one.
Net-new concepts across different angles, hooks or formats — not variations of the same idea. This role expects 10–15 per week.
Select only what you were accountable for.
A one-pager, dashboard export, Ads Manager screenshots, or a short deck showing the metrics behind your best work. Redact client names or figures you are not permitted to share, but keep the numbers readable. Make sure the link is publicly accessible or sharing is switched on.
A folder, board or page with the actual ads, concepts, scripts or briefs you developed — ideally paid social work that ran. This is separate from the results proof above.
Cover: the customer insight or data that prompted it, the hook and angle, what it beat and by how much (CPA, ROAS, CVR or first-purchase profitability), and how you iterated on it afterwards. Write it yourself — pasted AI text is easy to spot and counts against you.
Select what you use weekly, not what you have tried once.
Select the ones you have used yourself to pull data or run the pipeline.
Write a paragraph or two. Tell us what you would look at first, what hypotheses you would form, how many and what kind of concepts you would brief, and how you would handle the media buyer's request if you disagreed with it.
A focused task on researching a product and customer and turning that into testable concepts. We will agree the scope and timing with you in advance.
Record on your phone or laptop — unedited and unpolished is fine. In English, tell us: who you are, one DTC brand you built creative for and the result, and one creative assumption you challenged and what happened. Upload to Loom, YouTube (unlisted), Google Drive or Vimeo and check the link is viewable by anyone with it.
Optional. For example, adjustments you need for interviews or the practical task, notice periods, existing client commitments, or planned time away. This will not count against your application.
