Talo is hiring on behalf of a client
Remote-friendly, preference for European daytime-to-evening hours availability
A confidential search run by Talo for one of its clients. The full brief is shared with shortlisted candidates.
Compensation for this role is approximately $3,000–$4,000 per month depending on experience and capability, with a performance bonus discussed later. Please give a single monthly figure or a narrow range in USD.
If you are serving notice, give the first date you could realistically begin.
This role is remote and engaged on a contractor basis, so we need to know the country your contract and invoicing would sit in. Example: "Based in Portugal, Brazilian national with a residence permit."
Be honest — the schedule is flexible, but we need reliable overlap for briefs and feedback.
Count only paid work on advertising or direct-response content, not general video editing.
Pick the single closest match.
One per line, for example: "Brand X — freelance ad editor — Mar 2023 to present". Include whether you were in-house, agency or freelance.
Select all where you have shipped live paid creative.
Select all you have delivered live, tested ads for.
Select only tools you could work in tomorrow without training. Specific tools matter less than how fast you learn, but we need a baseline.
Be specific about the tool, what you used it for and the measurable effect on turnaround, for example "cut voiceover turnaround from 2 days to 2 hours".
Only answer yes if you did the editing yourself and saw the resulting numbers.
Total monthly media spend on the account or campaigns your edits ran in. Choose the honest option if you never saw the figures.
Select only what you were accountable for.
A Google Drive, Notion or Loom link is fine. Redact anything confidential — we only need to see the metric, the date range and that it is tied to your work.
A folder, reel or Frame.io link. Please note which platform each ad ran on and which parts you edited yourself.
Cover the angle and audience, the hook decision in the first three seconds, the pacing or structural choices you made, and what the numbers did as a result.
Assume footage and a clear brief are provided, and that quality still meets a paid-media standard.
Write a paragraph. Tell us what you would change first and why, what you would deliberately keep, how many variants you would ship and how you would decide whether your edits actually worked.
It is a small, time-boxed brief. We will confirm scope and whether it is paid before you start.
Record on your phone or webcam, unedited and unscripted — we are assessing how you think and speak, not your production skills. Cover: who you are, the type of ad creative you own end-to-end, and one editing decision you are proud of. Upload to Loom, YouTube (unlisted) or Google Drive and make sure the link is viewable by anyone with it.
Optional. For example adjustments you need for interviews or the test task, notice periods, planned holidays or existing client commitments. This will not count against you.
